Otroligt fin vecka - kallare än förra året, men ändå vårkänsla. Bra snö – torr och fluggig på morgnoen och blöt, slaskig på eftermiddagen...
Tre hjältar blev vi –Beau och Kristian och jag själv. Isak fick ställa in i sista sekund. Nästa år istället... !
Så, veckan i korthet:
29 april

2 maj
Regn och flatljus– vilar!

Sixth time in paradise!

Got four full skiing days this year – with Beau and Kristian as company, while poor Isak had to cancel last minute. Next year!
The week in brief:
30 April
Daltinden – nice but not very steep slope. Supposedly one of the safest – there's never been an avalanche there. As the risk was still high -- several bad ice layers beneth – we didn't want to take any risks. Amazing views from the peak – and nice snow. Several Norwegians ahead of us – and some of them fast skiiers. Caught a couple of them on a short video!
1 May
Another quite easy and safe peak, with yet another great view: Storgalten on the far north of the Lyngen peninsula. Beau had some problems on the hard, slippery, steep slope going up, but took revenge on the way down: Both found a quite steep chute and went down the slope superfast... wow!
2 May
Rain – day for gossiping and relaxing.
3 May
Took the ferry across the Lyngen fiord and up north to Skervöy – the little fishing town. Then another ferry to Ulöya where we hiked up to Blåtinden -- nice, smooth slope until you reach the peak and have a several hundred meeter cliff in front of you (or under you as you're likely to stand on a cornice!). Beau tried a front flip on the way down, which ended up in a face plant and a broken splitboard binding. Visit Graham at Lyngen Lodge on the way back...
4 May
Only Kristian and I today – Beau's binding is broken. Decided to go for Sofiatinden west of Lyngseidet – a slope facing south. Wet, creamy snow even at the peak! Great run down that felt like surfing.
